In short
- The game does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or location, and it has no ads and no in-app purchases.
- Your progress and settings are stored only on your device.
- Anonymous play statistics are sent only if you allow them. You can switch them off at any time in Settings.
- The world leaderboard is optional. If you join, a random nickname and your best score are shown to other players. You can leave at any time, which deletes your score.

1. Who we are
Save Ocean (“the game”) is a mobile game for iOS and Android developed by Burak Avar, Türkiye (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the data described in this policy (the data controller). You can reach us at b2avargames@gmail.com.
This policy applies to version 2.0.0 of the game and later. It explains what data the game uses, why, who processes it, how long it is kept, and how you can control or delete it.
2. Data stored only on your device
The game saves your progress on your device: high score, recycle points, upgrades, submarines, album, missions, daily reward streak and settings (music, sound, vibration, language and your statistics choice). This data is not sent to us. It is removed when you delete the game. Your device’s own backup feature (iCloud or Google backup) may include it, depending on your device settings.
3. Play statistics (optional)
When you first start the game, it asks whether you want to share anonymous play statistics. Nothing is sent unless you tap “Allow” or turn on “Statistics” in Settings. We use the Unity Analytics service for this.
What is sent
- Gameplay events: a game started or ended, score, wave and zone reached, game length, points earned, the submarine used, bosses defeated, upgrades and submarines bought with in-game points, missions and daily rewards claimed.
- Technical data that Unity Analytics collects automatically: a random installation ID, on iOS the identifier for vendors (IDFV), device model, operating system and version, app version, and app performance and error information. Your IP address is used by Unity to determine your approximate country; your exact location is never collected. If you have joined the leaderboard, your anonymous player ID is included as well.
Why
To understand how the game is played and to improve it, for example to balance the difficulty and find bugs. Statistics are not used for advertising, are not sold, and are not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
How to stop it
Turn off “Statistics” in Settings. Collection stops immediately and the game asks Unity to delete the statistics sent from your device.
How long it is kept
Unity keeps statistics data for up to 13 months and then deletes it automatically.
4. World leaderboard (optional)
Nothing is sent until you tap “Join” on the leaderboard screen. When you join:
- The game creates an anonymous player account with Unity. It consists of a random player ID and a sign-in token stored on your device. We do not ask for a name, email address or password.
- Unity gives you a random nickname (for example “BraveOtter”). Your nickname, best score and rank are visible to everyone who plays the game.
- After each game, your score is sent if it beats your best leaderboard score. To prevent cheating, the start time of each game is stored on Unity’s servers together with your player ID, and deleted when the score of that game is checked.
How to leave
Tap “Leave the leaderboard” on the leaderboard screen. This deletes your score from the leaderboard, the stored game start time and your anonymous player account. The game keeps working as before, only without the leaderboard.
If you delete the game without leaving the leaderboard first, your nickname and score stay on the leaderboard, because we have no way to link them to you. Email us your nickname and we will delete them.
How long it is kept
Your leaderboard data is kept until you leave the leaderboard or ask us to delete it. We may occasionally reset the whole leaderboard, which deletes all scores.
5. Who processes the data
All online features of the game use Unity Gaming Services (Analytics, Authentication, Leaderboards, Cloud Code and Cloud Save) provided by Unity Technologies. Unity processes the data only on our behalf, as our service provider, under its terms of service and data processing terms, and is required to protect it at least as well as described in this policy. Unity’s own practices are described in the Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.
Unity’s servers may be located outside your country, for example in the European Union or the United States. Such transfers are protected by the safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses.
We do not share your data with anyone else, we do not sell it, and we do not use advertising networks.
6. What the game does not do
- It does not show ads and has no in-app purchases.
- It does not access your location (GPS), contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA / Advertising ID) and does not track you across apps or websites.
7. Children
The game is suitable for all ages, but it is not specifically directed at children under 13. It never asks for a name, email address or other contact details. Statistics and the leaderboard stay off until they are turned on, and the leaderboard only shows random nicknames. If you are a parent and believe your child has shared data with us, you can turn off statistics and leave the leaderboard in the game, or email us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), the EU/UK GDPR or US state laws), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to withdraw your consent at any time, and to complain to a data protection authority.
The quickest way is to use the controls in the game (Statistics switch and “Leave the leaderboard”). You can also email us. Because the game does not know who you are, we may ask for your leaderboard nickname to find your data. We answer requests within 30 days.
Legal basis (GDPR/KVKK): statistics and the leaderboard are based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Data stored only on your device is needed to provide the game.
9. Security
All data is sent encrypted over HTTPS. Only the developer has access to the Unity Dashboard, and the keys used by the server are never included in the game.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Important changes will also be mentioned in the game’s update notes.
